We've had shows in the past and they were you know ok, but this year for some reason things got real. It all came to a huge wake up call when we played for an awesome youth group lock-in about 2 weeks back. Even though we've had shows before, we've had nothing like that experience as a band. It was incredible to see how from the beginning of the show where people didn't know us and were getting more comfortable hanging with us to standing up and getting into the music. Also we even had a few come up on stage and sing and play with us just because we were having so much fun. I never realized how much a crowd can pull from you and how you vibe off of each other. So when we go to shows usually we play people clap and we move on, but when we play SHOWS its a completely different experience where you are holding on to the crowd as much as they are holding onto you. When the crowd starts letting loose so do we, and when we start really having fun so does the crowd. I'm still on fire from that SHOW! Its an experience all its on that makes playing worth every bit of it because when you make a connection with a crowd it sticks with you, it makes talking to them so much easier when you know they are listening that much more now. Our show after the lock-in was a tough crowd and it was just that a show, but we do have one coming up May 25th and the Flopeye Fish Festival in Great Falls SC and we are praying as a band that God SHOWS up and SHOWS out like he did at the lock-in. We can only as a band connect as much as the crowd is willing to and when it does, its incredible it is a SHOW! 1 Peter 2:9 For we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, God's own special people that he has called out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Original music is so hard to create because you have a battle on your hands. The word you want to get out and the Word that God wants you to get out. What God calls you to do may not always be a crowd pleaser but when you do what He calls you to do you will be blessed because of it. God gives us gifts to edify the church but God will also take that gifts if you don't use it... Garden lyrics say this perfectly "Let the songs I sing bring joy to You. Let words I say confess my love. Let the notes I choose be Your favorite tune. Father let my heart be after You."
- -Clay There is a man named Larry Sims who decided to give a large group of people music lessons. About 20 people showed up including Anna and I. Classes progressed and people stopped coming till it was a small handful of people. We called Stephanie and said "Hey, we need a drummer cause we're going to start a small band and play a few shows at my Uncle Larry's church. She thought it would be fun so she came and we practiced for awhile and then Andrea popped up out of nowhere lol. A classmate of Anna's told her about Andrea, long story short we kept her. Then came Christy who I was training for endurance for school sports. I talked her into coming to a few practices and Larry told her to pick a tambourine up and she started playing with our band. That's pretty much how our band came about.
-Clay Well, we have really grown as a band. We have done more shows, but are still wanting more shows we can play at this fall. We just have bought brand new recording mics and recording equipment so we can really get our music out there. Now we actually have our own songs, can you believe it? they aren't completely worked out but the recording process has begun for our first CD/demo tracks. That's why I named it breaking ground, because this is a process that can get a little frustrating but its going to lead to great things soon. I can't wait to see this process through once I can get a handle on the actual software. They say its so easy on the videos and when you buy it, but its really not at least to me. On to another topic, I was riding home from going out with some friends this Saturday and we went by a car dealership on the interstate and they have had the biggest american flag flying since I was little. You know its funny how when you're little you don't need as much evidence or persuading about something as adults do. I remember asking my mom looking at the flag "is that how big God's foot is?" If you could see how big the flag is you could really understand. Think about it, now when you get a little older and your in a tight bind or a tough situation that same big God when you were little that seems huge can turn into such a small God in our faith. It just kind of hit me, how things can seem so easy to put faith in and believe in fully, seems so difficult when you're an adult. I think that's why God reminds us that no matter how much we grow up we need to be reminded that love is the breaking ground to our faith and that faith shouldn't be any harder than what it was when we were little.
<1 Corinthians Chapter 3> -Anna So this is Andrea, and I've never blogged before either, but Anna's posts were looking kinda lonely so I thought I'd throw in some thoughts. Since joining this band I've been thinking about the road that brought me here. All the little and big things that had to happen in so many lives to bring me to where I'm at today. The jumping off point was a Philosophy class and awesome professor who probably doesn't even know that one comment he made on a paper changed my life for the better and gave me a kick in the butt to get over my fears and write/play music. So in 2008 I started writing by accident really and played for the first time at an open mic where I was the only one who showed up, and therefore had to play everything I could possibly think of. Baptism by fire. More open mics, a few of my own shows (with John Wright), and a childhood friend ending up in a class with some girl named Anna, and here I am. Anna,Clay,Stephanie, and Christy are now stuck with me. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" Isaiah 64:4
Ok, so this is my first blog on our new webpage. I wanted to start learning how to design web pages and I figured why not start by doing one for our band. We do have a lot that we are creating right now and working on, so hopefully real soon we can have a sound that will be originally ours! I hope everyone is enjoying the new page, we will add more to it later when things start building and growing even more. I am definitely learning myself that you have to put God first in this area of callings and missions. I know if we try to go out and do this thing ourselves as a band, we will surely sink as we try. We always try to make sure we keep God in front and as hard as it can be sometimes wait on His timing. I know in writing songs personally I have to wait on his influence, because its so much better, its amazing what He creates through us, but it's so hard to wait when you want to write now. Never quit dreaming and pushing towards those dreams because I believe God has something great for all of us, and that's all because He loves us and He wants so much for all of us. I am excited because we have band practice tomorrow and we will get to work on our songs more, and hopefully find out if there are some upcoming shows. Well stay strong, and never give up in the growing process, its definitely worth it when you get to the other side!! Its been so awesome to watch God work in our lives especially when you don't give up! I know in my life its time for a new beginning, leaving the past behind where it should be.
--Anna Welcome to the new Page, we will be on more hopefully and blog some, I think its new to all of us, but it will be awesome! I am excited to introduce the new blog and band website, wow that's crazy we have our own site. Have an awesome day, and God bless. Remember, He will never let you fall; He will sustain you!
